The toe-tappin’ musical love story of Johnny Cash and June Carter- Cash.  

Based on one of the greatest love stories of our time, JOHNNY & JUNE dishes up a nostalgic evening of acoustic music and theatrical storytelling, recalling the great love and lives of Johnny Cash and his loving companion, June Carter-Cash. Starring  Doug Thoms   as Johnny Cash (and acoustic guitar) and Kyrst Hogan as June Carter-Cash (and autoharp, banjo and more).  Featuring a treasure-trove of your favorite songs by The Man in Black plus some of Johnny and June’s famous duets, Carter Family favorites, a bit of June’s infamous comedy and even a touch of gospel, JOHNNY & JUNE is a love story that truly transcends time. Proudly presented by Kitty Nights Productions, four-time winner of The Georgia Straight’s “Best Of The City” award.

The performers: 

DOUG THOMS (Johnny Cash) A dynamic professional entertainer, singer and musician, Doug has performed in New York and across the globe with the percussion phenomenon, “STOMP!”, and has been featured as a vocalist with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. In Vancouver, he recieved the EV Young Award for his performance of Pontious Pilate in “Jesus Christ Superstar”. at Theatre Under The Stars. A long-time rock band musician, Doug is the bandleader of Kitty Nights’ “Hot & Heavy Band”, providing musical accompaniment and vocals for sell-out original stage productions and critical acclaim. Doug writes and produces innovative modern rock theatre such as his acclaimed stage version of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” and his original rock opera “Elektrafire” which was awarded 4 stars in “Time Out New York”

KYRST HOGAN (June Carter) A professionally trained singer, actress and dancer with a degree in Theatre Arts, Kyrst worked as a principal singer, dancer and actress in New York for over a decade in such productions as the world famous Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring The Rockettes , Norwegian Cruise LinesAtlantic City Casinos as well as regional and off-broadway theatres and national touring companies. She also worked as a dance instructor for numerous studios in both Boston and New York, and has been successfully producing cabaret and theatrical events since 2006 as Kitty Nights Productions. She was dubbed “A Dynamic Cabaret Chanteuse” by Canada’s Globe and Mail and a “Burlesque Star” by The Georgia Straight. She has worked as a sought-after performer and educator world-wide, headlining shows and festivals in Toronto, Minneapolis, Dallas, San Francisco and Las Vegas.
